Minecraft 1.4.7 Jar – Download and Install Minecraft 1.4.7 Jar Client and Server. Minecraft 1.4.7 Jar Updates
This release is compatible with 1.4.7 and has almost no bytecode changes, so mods that have been updated for 1.4.7 should work in 1.4.7 too. The only affected file is the one called “qz”, which is the arrow projectile’s class. This also means that 1.4.7 clients can play on 1.4.7 servers, and 1.4.7 clients on 1.4.7 servers… so we’ll wait until after New Year’s Eve before we publish it in the launcher. Download the pre-release if you want these problems fixed before then!

- Fixed crash related to arrows fired from dispensers
- Fixed a multiplayer crash when using fireworks without a fireworks star
- Fixed long timeout when checking SRV records
Minecraft 1.4.7 Jar Installations
- Close Minecraft.
- Go to Minecraft.jar. You can find this in Windows at %appdata%/.minecraft/bin.
- Copy your Minecraft.jar file and back it up somewhere else.
- Move the newly downloaded Minecraft.jar into the /.minecraft/bin folder, replacing the old version.
- Open up Minecraft and have fun!
I would recommend backing up your old Minecraft.jar somewhere so that you can keep all of your current mods. You can do this by just copying Minecraft.jar and pasting it into another folder.
The client now comes with both the client-side and the server-side JAR files. The file called “minecraft.jar” should be in your “.minecraft/bin” folder as usual, and the “minecraft_server.jar” file should be in a folder called “.minecraft/server”.

How can I do this on mac? updated to 1.5, but need 1.4.7
If you wanna downgrade on a mac open up a finder window, Press and hold Command>Shift>G until a window opens up in the finder box- in there type this:
~/library/application support/
Press enter, open the minecraft folder,
Open up the folder titled bin.
Copy paste the downloaded jar file there,
ENJOY!

When you open up library or user (I dont remember as i dont use an older version of mac)
there should be another folder called application support, Find the minecraft folder, open up the folder titled bin and then paste the downloaded jar file into there.

Its not rocket science.
Just download the 1.4.7 Minecraft.jar file above, delete the current minecraft.jar file in your MC directory, then replace it with the jar file you downloaded earlier. Bam, done….
The download is called minecraft and when I try to open it says A Java Exception has occurred and when I put it in my minecraft bin nothing happens.

How hard is it to go to your .Minecraft folder, then into “bin” then delete your current “minecraft.jar” file then replace it with the 1.4.7 minecraft.jar file provided as a download above?
Its not rocket science people! I find it hard to fathom how you find the on switch for your PC/Laptop, let alone replace .jar files….

You aren’t doing anything wrong. look in the top right corner & click “SKIP AD”. It wiil take you to the download link.
Hey, I downloaded it but it came to a ZIP file. i went through it and i could not find any .jar files. help?

First off, you are the idiot for not understanding why people would not want to use this. We use them for mods and texture packs. Some aren’t updated instantly.
Because most people need to use mods, or Feed the Beast! If they aren’t 1.5.1, they aren’t compatible!

Uh, they sort of left out a huge step, renaming the 1.4.7 jar file to “minecraft”, not “minecraft(2)…
